📌Note: Excel hotsheets aren't compatible with macOS, for these devices you will need to create a Google Hotsheet.
You need the API license to use Hotsheets.
With Excel Hotsheets, you can link up to seven queries that contain live employee data into an external spreadsheet, in a secure way and avoid doing specific calculations every time you run a query.
To set up Excel Hotsheets, follow the steps below.
Create queries on the data you wish to export.
Create an API Key with access to the queries you created.
Note: If you see a yellow popup, click Enable Content.
In the Excel spreadsheet, go to the PEOPLEHR QUERIES tab.
Click Settings, then in the API KEY field, paste your API key.
Enter the query names that match the exact query names on PeopleHR.
Note: This section in case sensitive.
Note: If you wish for the end-user to have up-to-date data every time they open this file, click Auto Refresh.
Click Save, then click Run All Queries in the top left.
You now have a separate tab along the bottom with the data in each query added.
📌Note: When you share this sheet with another person, your API key is encrypted.
