In PeopleHR, as an admin, you can set up tap in and tap out for your employees to clock in or out using Geofence technology, beacons or QR scanner directly from a mobile phone.
To enable or disable this, follow the steps below:
Click the three lines icon then click Settings.
Select Automatic Tap in | Tap out and switch it On or Off.
πNote: Your employees can also disable it in the same way.
For more information on each function, refer to the table below.

Both (Beacon and QR) | You can either manually tap in when within the beacon zone or scan the QR code. | In most cases, you're automatically tapped in by the beacon before scanning the QR code. |
πNote: Ensure you allow permission for this app to always access your location. If you set it to auto tap in / tap out, you're tapped in and out when you enter and exit the specified location or beacon zone.
Manually clock in
Based on your settings, you need to do the following:
With the Geofence location of the beacon zone, if you're manually tapping in with this option, you can do it while you're in the specified location.
With the QR code, if you've selected it to be manual, click to tap in. The option appears to scan the code.
πNote: You can see your Tap-in / Tap-out option in your dashboard once logged into your mobile app.
πNote: By default, the system logic won't let the planner show the same timesheet for instances where the user is clocking in and out on different days. The system will act the same even if tap in/out is used.
