Work patterns are used to specify the days an employee works, when they work and how their entitlements are deducted. This also can be used for employees working set patterns who also work overtime.
Administrators can create work patterns for your company, that can then be assigned to employees as appropriate.
βWe don't recommend using work patterns if:
Your employee works irregular shifts.
Your employees swap shifts on a regular basis.
Your employees are flexible workers.
Create a new work pattern
To create a new work pattern, watch the video or follow the steps below.
Click Access Button
then click HR Admin.
Click Settings then click Work Patterns.
Click the + icon.
If needed, you can clone an existing work pattern using the Work Pattern drop-down menu.
Select the In Use check box then enter a name and description for the pattern.
Enter the relevant details for each day of the week.
If it's a rotating shift pattern, click Add Week then repeat step 6 and select which is the current week.
π€Tip: If the employees work one week on, and one week off, click Add Week and leave the second week blank.
Click Save.
If employees work different hours each day or work part-time, enter the maximum hours in the Hours column, and then the full-time equivalent in the Days column.
For example, if they work eight hours some days and four hours on other days, enter 8 in the Hours column. Then, on the days they work eight hours, enter 1 in the Days column, and on the days they work four hours, also enter 1 in the Days column to ensure that when they book a holiday it will take a full day out of their entitlement still.
Assigning the Work Pattern
Once created you then assign the Work Pattern to employees individually or in bulk.
You can also set a working pattern to be the default option for employees in your company.
