How to avoid errors when uploading logbook data in bulk

How to format the logbook data spreadsheet correctly.

For the logbook file to be uploaded without errors, ensure the below have been checked:

  • Within Bulk Actions, select the logbook screen, and then click View Template "Logbook Screen Upload". This will show the exact way and order in which the column headers of your spreadsheet need to be written.

๐Ÿ“ŒNote: Note: Ensure each column header is written the same as the fields within your logbook settings, as this is case-sensitive. Each capital letter and space has to be the same.

  • There are no additional spaces before or after the column headers in the spreadsheet.

  • The file has a .xls format

  • The sheet in the spreadsheet is named LogbookData

  • Filename is LogbookName_LogbookData, with no spaces.

Follow the table below on how to populate each column depending on the field type in your logbook:

Field Type

Rules and tips

Text Field

Text and numbers are accepted. Best used for no more than one line of text.

Date Field

Enter the date in a format consistent with your system preferences. Example: DD/MM/YY, MM/DD/YYY.

Drop Down

Type the option exactly as shown in the logbook dropdown in your system. Case sensitive: if a different option is entered, it will create a new option in the logbook dropdown.

Text Box

Text and numbers are accepted.

Check Box

Enter Yes to show as ticked in the logbook record, and No to be left unticked.

Employee Dropdown

Enter the employee's email address found in their personal tab.

Turn Off/On

Enter On for turned on, and Off for turned off.

Audio Files/Video files

This doesn't need to be included as a column in your spreadsheet.

Signature fields

This doesn't need to be included as a column in your spreadsheet.

Format Validator

Enter information that is consistent with your regular expression rule.

Section Heading

This doesn't need to be included as a column in your spreadsheet.

Slider Control

Enter the number on which the slider should land.

Progress Bar

Enter the percentage that should be displayed on the progress bar, in multiples of 5. Example: 10, 15, 20, 25, etc. Don't include the % sign.
