To create this background ripple, you have to build a query to pull the logbook required data. To create a ripple, you will have to follow the below 3 steps in this exact order:

  1. Create a query.

  2. Create the ripple process.

  3. Link the ripple to the query.

Create the query

  1. Click Access Button image then click HR Admin.

  2. Click Queries then click the plus + icon.

  3. Select Logbook request, then select Logbook Requested Date

  4. Add any other relevant filters, then click Next.

  5. Then add a filter as Equal To then select Today.

  6. Click Next, add a description and name the query.

  7. Click Next.

Now, you can close the query and follow the next step. You will use this query later in the process.

Create the ripple

Once you've created the query, you need to create the ripple process by following the below steps.

  1. Click Access Button image then click HR Admin.

  2. Go to Settings and select Ripple.

  3. Click the plus + button, then select the ripple type as Background.

  4. Set the status as Active, then name it and write a description.

  5. Click Add Step:

    • Add Step Type as Check Logbook Actioned.

    • For Screen Name, select the relevant logbook.

    • For Logbook Action select Logbook Update/Created.

    • Add the GoTo Action, and select Email step.

  6. Click Add Step:

    • Select Email and write the email that will be sent.

    • Address the emails to the relevant employees and click Exit.

Now that the process is created, you can get to the last step.

Link the ripple to the query

Since you are already on the ripples table screen, follow the steps below.

  1. Next to the ripple you created, click the star icon then click Add New Item.

  2. Create a name for the item, then select the relevant query.

  3. Click the ripple you created.

  4. In the [This ripple will never repeat for an employee unless you allow this ripple to repeat every x days] field, add 1.

  5. Click Save.
