If you want your employees to not book other event absences, mark all the reasons as not in use so employees can't select a reason to add.

If you want your employees to book other event absences but restrict the number of hours or days, set the other event entitlement to zero.

Also if you have the Other event Authorisation rule in place, their manager set as their approver can reject the request so that this isn't saved to the user's planner.

The other event absence type remains visible in the system. We recommend advising employees not to book other event absences and creating an approval rule to prevent the other event absences to add to their planner.
πNote: When you add the other event for your employees as their PeopleHR administrator, you bypass the approval rule by adding the absence to the employee's planner without needing the approver confirmation.
