Merge tags in PeopleHR accurately reflect employee job roles and their effective dates.
Each merge tag works in a different way:
[[Job Role]]: This tag reflects the latest job role added to the employee's record. This role can be effective in the past, present, or future.
[[Job Role Effective Date]]: This tag shows the effective date of the latest job role. Similar to the job role tag, this date can be in the past, present, or future.
[[Previous Job Role]]: This tag displays the job role the employee held before their current position. If a future job role is added, this tag will update to reflect the current job role once the future role becomes effective.
A user whos current job role is a software Engineer (effective from 22/02/2025). When their new job role of Senior Software Engineer (effective from 28/04/2025) is added, the tags will display as follows:
[[Job Role]]: Senior Software Engineer
[[Previous Job Role]]: Software Engineer
[[Job Role Effective Date]]: 28/04/2025
