With the LOS rule, you automatically increase an employee's holiday entitlement when they reach a certain total length of service.
β
As an admin, you can build these rules very flexibly, stating exactly how many months rewards the equivalent of additional days of annual leave.
To create a LOS rule and assign it to an employee, follow the steps below:
Click Access Button
then click Hr Admin.
Click Settings then click Holidays & Absence.
Next to LOS Rules, select the In Use check box.
Click Add then enter the relevant name.
πNote: You can add multiple LOS rules. For example, you may have different LOS policies for your offices overseas.
Enter the maximum annual leave entitlement in Max field.
When the LOS award exceeds the maximum annual leave entitlement at the LOS anniversary, it doesn't apply to the employee's record.
When leaving the maximum entitlement blank, the LOS value doesn't apply to the employee's entitlement.
When setting the maximum allowance, the set value will apply to all users whether they have their entitlement measured in days or hours.
Enter the LOS after which employees earn extra entitlement in months.
For example: To add one extra day after 12 months, add the following values:
In Months field: 12.
In Extra Days field: 1.
In Extra Hours field: 8.
For employees taking their leave in days, enter the number of extra days they've earned.
For employees taking their leave in hours, enter the number of extra hours they've earned.
Click Add, then click Save.
To add multiple LOS rules, repeat steps 4 - 8.
πNote: Once employees hit their LOS, the extra days or hours earned add to their annual leave entitlement on the first day of the new holiday year.
For a user who has the following information:
Their start date is on 14 March 2023.
The LOS rule was added to their profile on 13 March 2024.
Their 12th month anniversary is on 14 March 2024.
Their holiday year is April - March.
They will receive their extra day on the 1st of April 2024, because the rule was added before they reached their anniversary, hence the system recognized that, and at the start of the new holiday year their entitlement would be amended accordingly.
Now, you can apply your LOS rules to your employees.
