Delete a location, department or job role

We don’t have the option to delete items from drop-down menus, even when the data isn’t in use for any user.

If a location, department or job role is used within the system, you cannot delete it. To delete it, you will have to remove it from the places where it's used.

To find out where it's being used, check the below.

Personal tab

Create a query to check if an employee is assigned to it.

Leavers

Create a query to check if there is a leaver assigned to it.

News

Check if a news post was for a specific location or department by clicking the News button on the bottom of the dashboard, then clicking the pencil icon on each news to check the location and department.

Company documents

Check if a document was set to a specific location or department by clicking the Documents tab, then click on the three-dot option and Edit.

Employee Proxy Setting

Create a query to check if a user has edited access rights to this location or department.

Authorisation Rule

Check if any authorisation rule is specific to this location, department or job role, by clicking on the eye icon next to each rule.

Accrual Rule

Make sure there are no accrual rules set for this location, department or job role.

Project Timesheet Rule

Ensure there is no project assignment specific to a location, department or job role.

Performance Review

Make sure there is no performance review set up for this specific location, department or job role. If so, you would need to delete the review.

Notification Setting

Check if any user has been specified to receive notifications for this location or department. To check this, go to notifications settings and select each one to ensure the value isn't used.

Poll Group

About Pulse Surveys on the mobile app. This must be done via the mobile app.

ATS Vacancy

Ensure there is no vacancy assigned to this specific option, by going to ATS, clicking on Vacancies, and then filtering on that location or department from the left-hand menu.

Logbook Settings

Make sure there's no logbook filtered to this specific option, by clicking the eye icon next to each logbook, from within Settings.

Ripple Schedule

Ensure there is no ripple has been manually scheduled to this specific option, by going to the Ripple tab from within Settings, then clicking on the grey star next to the relevant ripple. Then click on the pencil icon to edit the existing item, and click on Manual. Now you can check the location and department tab.

Tap In / Out Location

Check that there is no geofence location filtered to this specific option, by going to Mobile from within Settings, and clicking on the existing locations.

ATS Settings Approvers

Ensure the default approver rule hasn't been assigned to this specific option, by going to the Approvers section from within ATS.

ATS Settings Hiring Lead

Check that the default hiring leads have not been assigned to this specific option, by going to the Hiring Leads section from ATS.

Document Template

Make sure there is no document template assigned to this specific option, by clicking on the EYE icon next to each document template from within Settings.
