Create a ripple to send an email before an employee's probation expires

Automatically find out when an employee's probation will expire.

To create this background ripple, you have to build a query to pull the required data. To create a ripple, you will have to follow the below 3 steps in this exact order:

  1. Create a query.

  2. Create the ripple process.

  3. Link the ripple to the query.


Create a query

The first step to build this ripple, is to create a query by following the steps below.

  1. Click Access Button image then click HR Admin.

  2. Click Queries then click the plus + icon.

  3. Select Employment Data then select Probation End Date.

  4. Select Probation Status then click Next.

  5. From the Probation End Date filter:

    • Select X Days Before. then set this to the time period you would like to see.

    • Example: To view employees with probation ending in the next 4 weeks, enter 28.

  6. Click Next and provide the query with a name and description.

  7. Click Next to view the results.

Create the ripple

Once you've created the query, you need to create the ripple process. To create the ripple, follow the steps below.

  1. Click Access Button image then click HR Admin.

  2. Click Settings then click Ripple.

  3. Click the + icon then select the ripple type as Background.

  4. Enter a name and description then set the employee and manager access.

  5. Add Step:

    • Select Email the write the contents of the email.

    • Address the email to the relevant users.

      • Next to To Address - Employee, select Manager.

    • Click Save.

  6. Set the status to Active then click Save.

Now that the process is created, you can get to the last step.


Link the ripple to the query

Since you are already on the ripples table screen, follow the steps below.

  1. Next to the ripple you created, click the star icon then click Add New Item.

  2. Enter a name then click the relevant query.

  3. Click the ripple name then enter the relevant number of days to repeat the ripple.

  4. Click Save.
